As i spend alot of time watching films, this term theres been a few films that have that make say... i wish i could make a film like that, but taking that into account pushes you more.
First film and one of the all time Epic classic, groundbreaking and one of the greatist films of all time (if not the greatest) 2001: A Space Oddessey.
Stanley Kubricks epic great and i would say one of cinemas complex film and for how big it is aswell, has everything you want in a film. Beautiful and provocative, Normal and surreal... it truely is breathtaking piece of work.
When this film was made, noone knew what earth looked like from space so they used there imagination, which looks like a photo of the sky but warped (a fish eye or pin hole effect) but you can tell its earth.
Then there was the sets, which where built on rotating wheels to create a zero gravity sense.
Also for you people who know Stanley Kubrick, it looks great, sets, shots, use of music to create atmosphere or emotion.
Also the great Stargate/Monolith scene, which is beautiful colours and visual effect to send you into a trance and thia was in a none digital era, so think about it in that seanse
Also this film has, which i believe is the biggest time jump in cinema history... which is the dawn of man to 2001.
For you people who havent seen this film, especially Audio/Visual, See this film, buy this film and if you dont like it... then you have issues, i know thats very opiontive but i get like that sometimes and i believe if you want to be in the media industry theres somethings you have to like because they simpley did and still do something great.
This scene is prime example of this films beauty of this film, the imagery of space and the ships with the song Blue Danube that just gives you a sense and atmosphere of space and zero gravity.
This is one of them scene that just makes me smile and ever time of think of it i want to watch the film.
This is one of my favourite scenes of all time, for a scene to use these effects and artistic look and make sense.
I recommend this film to everyone.
